Coach Initiative Chat: How Coaches and Nonprofits Can Use Social Media

This morning I did an interview for The Coach Initiative's e-newsletter about how nonprofits and coaches can use social media.

The Coach Initiative helps to advance the missions of nonprofits through pro bono coaching by matching leaders with experienced volunteer coaches.

Next Generation Big Visionary: 18-Year-Old Aneesha Raghunathan, Hope Line Fashions

Last fall I got a message through Facebook from Aneesha Raghunathan, the 18-year-old founder of Hope Line Fashions. I was so impressed with her work as a young social entrepreneur that I wanted to share it with you on this month's Big Vison Podcast. Hope Line's mission is to empower women around the world through the sale of unique T-shirts that are made by the women.

Recipe for Your Big Vision on the Wishstudio

The lovely Mindy Tsonas was kind enough to ask me to write a guest post for her blog, wishstudio. I've included an excerpt from my post, How to Write the Recipe to Make Your Big Vision Real below:

We cook because we’re hungry; because we have a craving. The same is true for the big visions we have for our lives. We hunger for them.

Because we’re adults, we can’t expect someone to make our big vision for us, we have to do it for ourselves. Often, what we crave is so unique, we have to write our own recipe. Here’s how:

1. Name your craving

What do you hunger for? Give it a name. Be specific. You never see a recipe for just, “Cake.” The recipe’s title describes it, like, “Dark Chocolate Cake with Raspberry Filling.” For example, if your big vision is to write a book about knitting that is wildly successful, your recipe could be called, My Fabulous, Famous Knitting Book That Inspires People and Makes Money.

2. Make an ingredients list

For the past five years I've had the amazing opportunity to interview 56 changemakers for the Big Vision Podcast who I think have big visions for a better world. It really has been one of the highlights of my work. I come away from each interview energized and inspired
